Different Production Methods

Tea bags with a string and paper tag are machine-filled by blowing the tea into the bag using air pressure. For this process, the tea must be very fine and often contains tea dust. These tea bags are then folded at the top and sealed with a metal staple.

In contrast, Ouhuis uses the same Rooibos for its tea bags as for the 250g loose-leaf pack:

The Rooibos is placed directly onto the bottom filter material.
A second layer of filter paper is then placed over it, and the sides are sealed – similar to puff pastry, where the filling is enclosed between two layers.
The result: The tea bags contain the exact same Rooibos cut as the loose 250g pack – no dust, no fillers, just pure Rooibos.
