Buchu Tea Pure fine cut 250g, loose
Buchu - A tonic for body and mind
Buchu (Agathosma betulina), a remarkable plant from the pristine landscapes of South Africa's fynbos region, performs diverse functions in the human body.
As a tonic, it plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting overall physical and mental health, both in healthy people and during recovery.
The tradition of tonics in South Africa
The use of tonics is widespread in traditional medicine in South Africa. The "Imbizas", a variety of "strengthening" plant combinations, play a significant role in maintaining health and vitality. In addition, ritual applications such as "Ukuphalaza" (cleansing emetic) and "Ukuchatha" (cleansing enema) have a tonic effect on the body.
Agathosma betulina - source of freshness
Our "Buchu" is carefully extracted from the fresh leaves of Agathosma betulina, also known as round leaf buchu. This shrub is characterized by rounded leaves with prominent oil glands and gives off a characteristic smell when crushed.
The contained essential oil with isomenthone and diosphenol gives the tea its special effect.
Preparation
Pour about 2 g of finely chopped buchu with about 250 ml of boiling water in a cup or teapot and let it steep for 5-10 minutes, depending on your taste.
Refine the Buchu infusion with a slice of lemon or ginger and enjoy.
The best drinking temperature is around 60°C.
You can use hot brewed Buchu tea to make delicious and refreshing iced teas.
