Organic Mountain Honeybush Tea 60g, tea bags
Nooitgedaght Farm - Honeybush
Since 1927, the fourth generation of the Nortje family has been cultivating honeybush on the Nooitgedaght Farm, and founded Melmont Honeybush Tea CC in 1999, which produces and markets the Mountain Honeybush tea, which is unique in its quality.
The Mountain Honeybush grows high on the pristine cooler southern slopes of the Kouga mountain range in Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Every spring, when the honeybush blooms in the mountains, its bright yellow flowers exude the intense scent of honey. This inspired the Nortje family to give the name Mel-mont, a combination of the Latin words "mel" for honey and "mont" for mountain.
Until now, the honeybush has resisted artificial propagation, so only mature plants are harvested to ensure the younger plants have time to flower and seed.
After harvesting, the honeybush needs three years to regenerate before it can be harvested again. As a result, less than a third of the mountain yield is available for crop rotation for harvesting.
The remoteness far from agriculture and industry ensures a purity of the harvested honeybush that can hardly be found today.
The fragrance, the body, the character, its golden ruby red color characterize the Melmont Honeybush tea as an exceptional and unsurpassed tea.
Honeybush tea is packed with antioxidants, isoflavones and xanthones.
In South Africa, honeybush tea is used as a remedy for inflammation and respiratory diseases. In addition, it is considered to lower blood sugar and can also be used in the treatment of diabetes.

The farmer who bought the farm probably didn't think it was possible to own a farm until then and passed this thought on to his descendants by naming it "Nooitgedaght Farm".
